The Challenge
The business required a reliable digital backbone to support a fast-moving construction supply operation where timing and fulfillment accuracy directly affect jobsite productivity. Key operational requirements included structured handling of quote requests, product/category management, logistics scheduling, and internal visibility over deliveries, while preserving the brand promise: what you need, exactly when you need it.
My Solution
I engineered the backend using Node.js and Express with a relational SQL database to support core operations for products, inquiries, quote workflows, dispatch planning, and delivery tracking. The API layer was designed with modular services, validation middleware, and role-based access for operations staff. To support field documentation and customer request artifacts, I integrated Amazon S3 with secure upload flows and controlled file access patterns. The platform architecture aligns with Big League's just-in-time logistics model by enabling structured scheduling, route-aware dispatch data, and dependable jobsite fulfillment workflows.
